J&K Achieves 81% Rural Tap Water Coverage; Srinagar and Ganderbal Hit 100%

 
Jammu and Kashmir has covered 81 per cent of its rural households with tap water connections, with Srinagar and Ganderbal districts achieving 100 per cent mark. Out of 19.26 lakh rural households in Jammu and Kashmir, 15.63 lakh have functional tap water connections. 
 
 
According to the Jal Shakti Department, 3 thousand 253 schemes were taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission at a cost of more than 13 thousand and 334 crore rupees. In Kashmir divison, Srinagar and Ganderbal have achieved full coverage of water tap connections. While in the Jammu region, Doda district has 26 thousand and 757 households yet to be connected.
