ISRO Chairman Dr V Narayanan attends INCOIS 27th Foundation Day in Hyderabad

The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) celebrated its 27th Foundation Day at its Hyderabad campus. This milestone, marked by the presence of ISRO Chairman Dr V. Narayanan as Chief Guest, highlighted the institute’s evolution into a global leader in oceanographic services.

The event featured the unveiling of a new institutional logo and the launch of three innovative digital platforms: JellyAIIP for jellyfish monitoring, the upgraded SAMUDRA 2.0 mobile app for maritime advisories, and the SIVAS early warning system for coastal inundation.

To further national research and the blue economy, INCOIS exchanged strategic agreements with the Space Applications Centre, ICCS, and ALEAP. The celebrations coincided with the WCSSP India Annual Review Meeting, drawing nearly 100 experts from India and the UK.

Director Dr T. M. Balakrishnan Nair emphasised that these advancements reinforce INCOIS’s commitment to providing life-saving, user-focused science to coastal communities and maritime stakeholders.
