In Israel, immigration officials in a small town in Sharon region today detained 18 agricultural workers from Thailand who were staying in the country illegally.
These workers were found living in temporary housing within the agricultural sector, and their B/1 work visas were no longer valid. They have been taken to a detention facility where they will undergo a hearing, which is the first step in the process of deporting them from Israel.
The B/1 visa is for individuals who have received approval to work in Israel for a limited period. It applies to various sectors, including experts, foreign specialists, performing artists, caregivers, and agricultural workers.
