Iran has confirmed that its Intelligence minister, Esmail Khatib was killed in Israeli strikes today. In a social media post, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the assassination and offered his condolences. Earlier, Israel’s defence minister, Israel Katz had claimed that the Israeli military has killed Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib. Announcing the development, he added that significant strikes are expected throughout the day on all fronts, without providing further details. Khatib’s killing comes after Israel targeted top security official Ali Larijani and Basij paramilitary force commander Gholamreza Soleimani.
