Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s offer to restart nuclear talks, dismissing Trump’s claim that the U.S. destroyed Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
The remarks followed five rounds of indirect negotiations that ended after a 12-day air campaign in June by the U.S. and Israel targeting Iranian nuclear sites.
Khamenei also condemned U.S. interference in Iran’s nuclear program, calling it coercive and illegitimate. While the West accuses Iran of secretly pursuing nuclear weapons, Tehran insists its uranium enrichment is for civilian energy use.
