Representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in India, Abdul Majeed Hakeem Ilahi, today characterised the ongoing tensions between Iran and the Israel-US alliance as a state of no war, no peace. Speaking at a press conference in Bengaluru, Mr. Ilahi said Iran did not want the conflict but was compelled to respond amid continued attacks, even as negotiations were expected to continue.

He called for an immediate de-escalation, emphasizing that global stability depends on the actions of those who initiated the hostilities. Explaining the current situation in Iran, he said conditions remain stable, and people are going about their daily lives. However, he linked the current maritime instability to the actions of US and Israel.
Mr. Ilahi also highlighted Iran’s long-standing ties with India, describing it as a great country that Iran deeply respects. He emphasized that the two nations’ shared history spans over 5,000 years, rooted in education, philosophy, culture, civilisation, and economic ties.
He added Iran is connected to India by education, philosophy, culture, civilisation and the economy. Mr. Illahi said our relationship, collaboration, and cooperation with India is very good, noting Iran’s facilitation of Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz reflects ties. He expressed confidence that in future as well, the ties between Iran and India will grow stronger.
