Iran claims success in downing US aircrafts

The West Asia conflict escalated sharply on Saturday as fresh Iranian attacks and air defence interceptions were reported across the Gulf, with civilian areas in several locations affected by falling debris. Missile and drone exchanges intensified across multiple fronts. In Israel, Iranian missiles triggered fires at an industrial site in southern Beersheba and damaged a residential building near Rosh Haayin.

Sirens sounded nationwide as air defence systems intercepted incoming projectiles. In Lebanon, authorities reported fresh Israeli airstrikes that destroyed two bridges in the south, raising concerns over continued cross-border escalation. In a major development, a US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down over Iran on Friday, with both crew members ejecting. One crew member has been rescued, while search operations continue for the second, a weapons systems officer.

Iranian authorities have reportedly urged civilians in the area to assist in the search and announced a reward for information on the missing crew member. Separately, Iran claimed that an A-10 Warthog close air support fighter was stuck. Reports said the jet had reached Kuwaiti airspace before the pilot ejected. Iranian state television also claimed that a US Black Hawk helicopter involved in the rescue mission was hit during operations. The helicopter was able to return to base, though crew members were reported injured.
