Amid the developing situation in parts of West Asia, a number of fatalities have been reported across the region. Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency has reported that an Israeli strike hit an elementary girls’ school in Minab, a city located in the Hormozgan province of southern Iran. Iranian media reported that 57 students were killed and 60 others injured in the attack.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said the attack on a girls’ elementary school will not go unanswered. Meanwhile, in Syria, four people were killed and several others injured when an Iranian missile struck a building in the southern city of Sweida. According to state news agency SANA, other missile debris fell in the city of Quneitra and the Yarmouk Basin in Daraa province in southern Syria.
On the other hand, the UAE defence ministry has confirmed that shrapnel falling on a residential area in Abu Dhabi resulted in some material damage and the death of one person of Asian nationality.
