Inter-ministerial teams of the Central Government visited various districts of Himachal Pradesh to assess the damage caused by natural disasters during the monsoon.
During their two-day visit, the central teams inspected the affected areas in Chamba, Mandi, Kangra, and Kullu districts, met the disaster-affected people, and assured them of all possible assistance.
Akashvani correspondent reports, An inter-ministerial central team, headed by Kamaldeep V. Patel, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Expenditure, inspected the damage caused by heavy rains, landslides, and cloudbursts in Chamba district.
During their visit, the central team held a review meeting with district administration officials and gathered detailed information about the losses.
Deputy Commissioner of Chamba, Mukesh Repaswal, informed the central team that various departments in the district had suffered damages amounting to approximately 43,433 lakh rupees due to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, another inter-ministerial central team, led by G. Parthasarathy, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, visited the disaster-affected areas of Kullu district and carried out a detailed assessment of the losses. Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, Torul S. Ravish, briefed the team about the damage that occurred at different locations.
The central team assured that a detailed assessment report of the disaster losses in the state would be submitted to the concerned departments of the Central Government, and efforts would be made to provide relief at the earliest.
