Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that India’s transport sector is moving towards sustainable infrastructure by adopting biofuels, electric vehicles, and renewable energy. Addressing the Panchajanya Infra Confluence 2025 in New Delhi today, Mr Gadkari emphasised the need for balancing rapid development with environmental protection.
The Minister highlighted that the size of Indian automobile industry is 22 lakh crore rupees, overtaking Japan to become the world’s third-largest after China and the US. He added that the industry has provided jobs to nearly four crore people.
Mr. Gadkari further stressed that converting stubble into biofuels can help tackle Delhi’s pollution and provide income to farmers. He said such initiatives will create new opportunities for youth, boost the economy, and ensure development with minimal harm to nature.
