India’s Namrata Batra to face Mengyue Chen of China at World Games 2025

In Wushu, India’s Namrata Batra is set to face Mengyue Chen of China in the women’s 52 kg final at the World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China, this evening. The much-anticipated gold medal match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM Indian Standard Time.

Namrata made history by reaching the final after defeating the Philippines’ Krizan Faith Collado 2-0 yesterday. She also secured at least a silver medal, guaranteeing India its first-ever World Games medal in Wushu.

Earlier in the competition, Rishabh Yadav earned India’s first individual medal at the Games by winning bronze in the men’s compound archery event. Namrata comes into the final on a high, having clinched gold at last month’s Moscow Star International Wushu Championship ahead of the World Games, and she will be aiming to add the prestigious World Games gold medal to her growing list of achievements.
