Indian Telecommunications Service marks 60 years, VP C P Radhakrishnan hails Digital Transformation

Indian Telecommunications Service- ITS has completed its 60 years today. Addressing the Diamond Jubilee of the Service at a function in New Delhi, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan said that India’s transformation from the statistics of the Telegraph to the boundless possibilities of the digital age.  
 
 
Reflecting on the journey of 60 years, the Vice-President recalled the days when a telephone connection was a privilege. He said today, technology exemplifies how digital empowerment transforms lives and governance for every Indian, leaving no one behind.
 
 
The Vice President said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s telecom sector is witnessing unprecedented transformation-bolstering infrastructure, innovation, and digital inclusion, touching millions of lives. He stressed that the spirit of service shown by ITS officers remains central to this progress.
 
 
In his address, Minister of Communication, Jyotiraditya Scindia said that 60 years of ITS, reflects India’s journey, from telegraph lines to digital highways, from scarcity to abundance and from modest engineering capacity to global digital leadership. The Minister stressed that on the occasion of this Jubilee ceremony, India strengthens its resolve to build a digital Bharat where every citizen, from the busiest metropolis to the remotest hamlet, can aspire without limits.
