Indian Ambassador to Portugal, Puneet Roy Kundal, welcomed President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to the Indian exhibition at the Diplomatic Bazaar 2025 in Lisbon. In a social media post, the Embassy said the event highlighted India’s rich cultural heritage and celebrated 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Portugal.
On the 5th of this month, India and Portugal held their fifth Foreign Office Consultations, reviewing political, economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties. They discussed cooperation in Defence, Renewable Energy, Agriculture, Science and Technology, Tourism, and Education, and agreed to speed up pending bilateral agreements.
Both sides also exchanged views on India-EU relations and global issues, reaffirming their commitment to work together at the UN and other international platforms. India and Portugal noted the success of events marking 50 years of restored diplomatic ties, including several high-level visits from India to Portugal.
