Colombia withdraws statement condoling deaths in Pakistan after Indian strikes during Operation Sindoor

Colombia has officially withdrawn its statement that was issued expressing condolences on the loss of lives in Pakistan after the Indian strikes during the Operation Sindoor. This statement came after a meeting of all-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio in Colombia.

Akashvani’s Correspondent reports that as a demonstration of India’s steadfast dedication to eradicating terrorism, the seven multiparty parliamentary delegations continues to engage in high-level discussions during their official visits abroad. Briefing Colombian Ministers and Senior Officials, the all-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor expressed India’s view of recent events and voiced disappointment at Colombia’s statement.

 

In a social media post Mr. Tharoor said that Colombian Ministers assured him that the statement had been withdrawn and India’s position has now been properly understood and strongly supported. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that India values very much the connection with BRICS of which India is a founding member. He added that India is also very attached to the growth of the Global South – the countries of the developing world.

Meanwhile, Another Delegation led by Shivsena MP Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde has concluded their visit to Sierra Leone. DMK MP Kanimozhi, led all-party delegation met the Indian diaspora in Latvia. 

Shivsena MP Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde led delegation held extensive meetings with key Sierra Leonean dignitaries including the Speaker of the Parliament, the Deputy Minister of Defence, National Security Coordinator, Acting Foreign Minister and the Vice President of Sierra Leone. The delegation highlighted India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and emphasized the importance of global unity in combating this threat.

In a strong show of solidarity, the Parliament of Sierra Leone condemned the terrorist attack at Pahalgam and observed a moment of silence to honor the victims of the attack.The visit concluded with calls for coordinated action at the UN Security Council, Financial Action Task Force-FATF and other global forums to counter terrorism and preserve international peace.
