Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani has said that India is witnessing AI revolution. He said that India has come a long way from rural telephony, during the establishment of C-DOT, to 5G, optical fiber and quantum secure communication now.
Addressing the 42nd foundation day of Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) in New Delhi today, he said that the role of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan is much greater now. He lauded C-DOT for building indigenous 4G and 5G technology, and said that the technology has been deployed at over one lakh BSNL towers and is working wonderfully. He also added that this has been achieved within the shortest amount of time and the lowest amount of funding. He said that C-DOT is a proud place for India, and is expected to emerge as the temple of innovation and role model for the rest of the world.
Speaking exclusively to Akashvani News, CEO of C-DOT, Rajkumar Upadhyay said that C-DOT, which was established in 1984, has delivered rural automatic exchanges that brought telecom revolution in India. He also emphasized on the crucial operations of C-DOT, like cyber security, AI, quantum technologies.
