Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today announced that India will host the prestigious AI Impact Summit next month under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He made the announcement during his visit to the Indian Institute of Technology Madras to participate in Pongal celebrations and review the institute’s progress ahead of the summit.
Speaking to the media, he highlighted the rapid global adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in sectors such as education, healthcare, and manufacturing. He said that the upcoming summit would serve as a platform to strengthen the country’s role in AI innovation and application.
On the occasion of Pongal, the Minister said the new year marks a renewed focus on integrating AI into the country’s education framework. He announced that from school-level education to advanced research, the mother tongue will be prioritised as the medium of instruction across all Indian educational institutions.
