India vs Switzerland: Nagal, Aryan Shah and Dhakshineswar Suresh in Singles Line-Up

In Tennis, two-time Olympian Sumit Nagal will spearhead the Indian team’s challenge against ninth-seeded Switzerland in a Davis Cup 2025 World Group I tie at the Swiss Tennis Arena in Biel today. India’s top singles tennis player at world Number 290, Sumit Nagal, will be joined by 401st-ranked Aryan Shah and the 626th-ranked Dhakshineswar Suresh in the Indian squad. N Sriram Balaji and Rithvik Choudary Bollipalli will be India’s specialists for the doubles rubber, while Rohit Rajpal is the non-playing captain of the squad.

 

Switzerland’s line-up is led by World Number 155 Jerome Kym, 222-ranked Marc Andrea Husler, and 244-ranked Dominic Stricker in singles and doubles strength includes 78-ranked Jakub Paul and Junior Australian Open champion Henry Bernet.

 

The winner of the India vs Switzerland tie will advance to the 2026 Qualifiers 1st Round, while the losing nation will be relegated to the 2026 World Group I play-offs. The Indian tennis team is yet to win the Davis Cup but has finished runners-up on three occasions in 1966, 1974 and 1987.
