Chief Minister of Rajasthan Bhajan Lal Sharma described the trade agreement between India and the United States as historic, stating that it is in the national interest and will open new avenues of progress, especially for Rajasthan. In a statement issued today, the Chief Minister said that the United States has reduced tariffs on Indian products from 50 percent to 18 percent, which will provide major relief to Indian exporters. Over the past six years, the Central Government has signed nine historic trade deals, reflecting the growing global recognition of India’s economic strength. He said that this deal is a testament to the global acceptance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Chief Minister added that this historic India-US deal will open doors to global markets for the state’s jewellery, handicrafts, garments, and stone industries, leading to unprecedented growth in exports.
