India & UK focus on strengthening defence partnership during CDS General Anil Chauhan’s first visit

India and the United Kingdom have taken a significant step forward in strengthening their defence partnership. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan is on a three-day official visit to London, the first such visit by an Indian CDS to the UK.

The visit marks the fifth high-level military engagement between the two countries this year, highlighting growing strategic convergence. During talks, both sides focused on expanding cooperation in key areas including cyber security, intelligence sharing, defence industrial collaboration and joint military exercises. The discussions aim to enhance global security, stability and resilience.

This visit follows a series of recent engagements, including last month’s discussions in New Delhi between senior military leaders of both nations, aimed at boosting interoperability and operational cooperation. The visit underscores a shared commitment by India and the UK to build a future-ready defence partnership and deepen strategic ties in an evolving global security environment.
