India and Tunisia today held the 6th round of Foreign Office Consultations in Tunis, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors. In a series of social media posts, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the consultations were co-chaired by Secretary (South) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Dr. Neena Malhotra, and Tunisia’s Secretary of State, Mohamed Ben Ayed. Mr Jaiswal noted that both sides reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, including political engagement, high-level visits, trade and economic cooperation, capacity building, cultural exchanges, as well as people-to-people ties. Earlier, Mr Jaiswal said that Dr. Neena Malhotra called on Tunisia’s Foreign Minister, Mohamed Ali Nafti. During their meeting, Mr Nafti emphasized the need to enhance academic partnerships and expand cooperation in science and technology, as well as in new and renewable energy sectors. Mr Jaiswal noted that the discussions reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to further deepen and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
