Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Anupriya Patel, has praised chemical exporters for their outstanding contributions to the chemical sector. She was speaking to the media ahead of the 48th Export Award Function hosted by the Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics, and Dyes Export Promotion Council (CHEMEXCIL) today. Ms. Patel highlighted that the chemical and petrochemical industries are significant contributors to the country’s economy, with over 80,000 chemicals playing a crucial role in various sectors, including agriculture, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals, textiles, electronics, and automobiles.
She further mentioned that the government is striving to create a robust ecosystem for the growth of the chemical industry through a range of schemes and initiatives. Ms. Patel expressed the view that India is increasingly recognized as a trusted chemical supplier on the global stage and expressed optimism that, given the speed of government policy support and the dedication of exporters, India will lead the global chemical landscape in the years to come.
During the award ceremony, Ms. Patel honoured 101 companies for their excellent performance in exporting various chemical product categories during the financial years 2019-20 and 2020-21.
CHEMEXCIL Chairperson Abhay Udeshi, Vice Chairperson Dr. Satish Wagh, Director Raghuveer Kini, and others were present on the occasion.
In her comments on the Delhi assembly election results, Ms. Patel congratulated the BJP on their landslide victory and praised the voters of Delhi for making the right choice, voting for clean water, clean air, a clean Ganga, good governance, a corruption-free government, and the development of Delhi. Criticising the Aam Aadmi Party, Ms. Patel asserted that the politics of lies are short-lived, and the voters of Delhi had given their answer through the vote.
