Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed confidence that India is on course to become the world’s third-largest economy by steadfastly pursuing a policy of reform, perform, and transform. Speaking at the India-Russia Business Forum in New Delhi, Mr Modi highlighted that discussions on a Free Trade Agreement between India and the Eurasian Economic Union have already begun. He emphasized that whether in business or diplomacy, the foundation of any partnership is mutual trust. He added that this trust is the greatest strength of India-Russia relations, providing both direction and momentum to the two countries’ joint efforts.
Mr. Modi said that India and Russia are now embarking on a new journey of innovation, co-production, and co-creation. He asserted that India is prepared to work shoulder to shoulder with Russia to develop sustainable solutions to global challenges. The Prime Minister underlined that India is emerging as the world’s skilled capital and India’s youth hold the potential to meet global requirements.
Mr. Modi mentioned that at today’s summit, India and Russia have taken several important decisions on tourist visas for citizens of both countries which will boost tourism, create new business opportunities and open up new employment opportunities for both India and Russia. He expressed that both the countries can partner in EV manufacturing, automotive components, and wireless mobility tech which will contribute to the development of the Global South, especially Africa.
