Union Minister Pralhad Joshi today said that India has ranked third globally in solar power generation, having achieved 50 per cent of the installed capacity.
Briefing media at the eighth session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly in New Delhi, the Minister said India has reduced its fossil fuel imports and pollution-related costs, which demonstrate the economic benefits of clean energy.
Highlighting the role of ISA’s member countries, the Minister said that nearly 41 per cent of the global capacity is accounted for by the member countries, showcasing the impact of the alliance. He added that ISA is working towards making solar energy fair, affordable, and sustainable.
