India Posts sets revenue target of over Rs 17,500 crore for current financial year

Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia today said that the India Posts has set an ambitious revenue target of over 17 thousand 500 crore rupees for the current financial year, 30 per cent higher than the previous year. Mr Scindia made these remarks while briefing the media after chairing the quarterly review meeting of the Department of Posts in New Delhi. The Minister noted that India Post has already realised 10 thousand 155 crore rupees during the first three quarters of the current financial year. He said that during 2023-24, the Department generated revenue of 13 thousand 240 crore rupees, while in 2024-25, the revenue rose to 13 thousand 640 crore rupees.

Mr Scindia said that the Ministry aims to ensure an accelerated growth rate in the parcel business. He said that India Post has tied up with multiple private-sector logistics providers to act as fulfilment agencies. He also highlighted the expansion of Government-to-Government services, including Memoranda of understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture for pesticide verification and the Ministry of Rural Development for handholding Self Help Groups. Mr Scindia also noted that the Department has partnered with several mutual fund companies for KYC services and with the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), which has contributed to a significant rise in revenue from citizen-centric services.

Mr Scindia also congratulated the States that performed well during the third quarter. Rajasthan emerged as the best-performing circle overall, achieving 82 per cent of Quarter three targets. In the Post Office Savings Bank segment, Karnataka achieved 112 per cent of its Quarter three target. Citizen Centric Services recorded exceptional performance in Delhi, achieving 240 per cent of its target, while in Postal Life Insurance, Uttar Pradesh emerged as the top performer with 129 per cent achievement. In mail operations, Rajasthan achieved 153 per cent.
