The eighth meeting of the Joint Working Group (JWG) on Agriculture between India and the Netherlands was held today in New Delhi. The meeting was co-chaired by Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare’s Joint Secretary Priya Ranjan and Netherland’s Assistant Vice Minister Mr. Guido Landheer from the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. Both sides discussed current priorities, challenges, and new initiatives in the agriculture sector and appreciated the JWG’s role in strengthening bilateral cooperation. The meeting highlighted the success of the Centres of Excellence (CoEs) set up under the partnership, which have helped demonstrate advanced technologies, produce high-quality planting material, and train thousands of farmers. The two countries reviewed ongoing collaborations and explored new opportunities in areas such as phytosanitary cooperation, seeds, animal husbandry, dairy, food processing, food safety, circular agriculture, greenhouse technologies, and innovation.
