India moving towards Viksit Bharat with advanced health care, says Vice President C P Radhakrishnan 

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan has said that India is moving towards Viksit Bharat with a focus on providing advanced health care to all citizens. Inaugurating new medical facilities at Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital at Coimbatore this evening, he said that the Modi Government’s scheme, like Ayushman Bharat and setting up of medical colleges in every district, was a dream come true for ordinary students to take up medical studies.

 

Giving comparative statistics, he said that before 2014, 37 thousand Crore rupees were allocated for Health but now the allocation is 98 thousand Crore rupees. He said that the Government has approved 1.6 lakh health and wellness Centres in the Country so that people suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and hypertension can benefit from them. He said that the seats from MBBS have doubled, and today one lakh 20 thousand students undergo medical graduation, and the number of PG seats has been increased to over 70 thousand.
