India Launches Operation Sagar Bandhu to Support Sri Lanka After Cyclone Ditwah

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said that a total of 27 tonnes of relief material have been delivered by air and sea to Colombo. In a social media post, the Minister said, more relief material is on the way to support affected communities in the Cyclone Ditwah-affected areas. He said two Urban Search and Rescue Teams comprising 80 National Disaster Response Force Personnel have also been sent. 
 
 
The Indian Air Force has said, essential rations and critical supplies have also been delivered. In the wake of Cyclone Ditwah, India has launched Operation Sagar Bandhu to bolster relief efforts in Sri Lanka. Under the operation, the Indian Air Force deployed one C-130 and one IL-76 from Hindan Air Base last night.
