India is witnessing consistent economic growth due to good governance under PM Modi’s leadership: Union Minister Kriti Vardhan Singh

In Nagaland, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and External Affairs, Kriti Vardhan Singh, today said India is witnessing consistent economic growth due to good governance, digital reforms and enhanced accountability under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Addressing a Press Conference at BJPthe  Head Office in Kohima, Mr Singh said India continued to register economic growth even during the COVID-19 period, when several developed countries faced negative growth. He attributed this to improved efficiency in governance, increased use of information technology and stronger institutional accountability across ministries and departments.

Emphasising the role of free trade agreements (FTAs), Mr Singh said India has signed trade agreements with more than 40 countries, including a high-impact agreement with the European Union.

These FTAs, he said, open global markets for Indian goods, strengthen the manufacturing sector, support MSMEs and create employment opportunities for the country’s youth. On the Union Budget 2026-27, Mr Singh termed it as a long-term roadmap aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, with a strong focus on skilling, entrepreneurship and inclusive growth. He added that the Northeast holds vast potential in tourism, eco-tourism, agro-forestry and organic farming, and assured that several government schemes are designed to ensure economic growth reaches rural and remote areas.
