India-Cyprus Ties in Focus as FM Kombos Visits New Delhi

Cyprus Foreign Affairs Minister Constantinos Kombos will arrive in New Delhi today on a three-day visit to India. He will meet External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and deliver a lecture at Sapru House.

The visit follows Prime Minister Modi’s June trip to Cyprus this year, which produced a Joint Declaration outlining a roadmap for deeper strategic cooperation and stronger EU-India relations. Both sides pledged to work toward concluding the EU-India Free Trade Agreement by end-2025, ahead of Cyprus assuming the EU Council Presidency in 2026.

The declaration reaffirmed shared commitments to democracy, multilateralism, and sustainable development, highlighting India and Cyprus as trusted partners in promoting regional and global stability.
