India has strongly condemned the vandalism and removal of the Mahatma Gandhi statue located at the Australian Indian Community Centre in Rowville, Melbourne, by unidentified people. In response to media queries regarding the incident, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said New Delhi has raised the matter with Australian authorities. He said the Indian side has urged them to take immediate action to recover the missing statue and hold the culprits accountable.
