Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth said today that India is committed to welfare of its neighbours, while steadfast on zero-tolerance towards terrorism. He said this while addressing the National Seminar on Changing Dynamics in India’s Neighbourhood in New Delhi. The Minister said India’s civilisational ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam reflects the country’s commitment to regional cooperation along with decisive action against terror.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said it demonstrated the nation’s resolve and highlighted the growing use of indigenous defence platforms. Mr Seth said India’s defence exports have increased significantly from 6 hundred 86 crore rupees in 2014 to over 23 thousand crore rupees in 2025, while the defence budget has reached over 7 lakh crore rupees. He also highlighted India’s close ties with neighbouring countries, describing Bangladesh as a valued trade partner and stating that India and Nepal share deep historical, cultural and security ties. The event witnessed a policy document on Artificial Intelligence in the military domain and the AI-based drone situational awareness platform SAMADH were also launched.
