India beat England by 2 wickets in second T20I to take 2-0 lead in five match series

In Men’s Cricket, India clinched a thrilling two-wicket win over England in the second T20 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai last night. Chasing a target of 166 runs, India clinched victory in 19.2 overs for the loss of eight wickets.

 

For India, Tilak Varma smashed 72 runs in 55 balls to take India home. Washington Sundar scored 26 off 19 balls while other Indian batsmen failed to impress. Varma was declared player of the match for his unbeaten heroic knock.

       

Sent into bat first, England made 165 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. England skipper Jos Buttler was the highest scorer with 45 runs. For India, Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy scalped two wickets each. For England, Brydon Carse claimed three wickets.

       

With this victory, India now leads the five-match series 2-0. The third T20 match of the series will be held on January 28th in Rajkot, Gujarat.
