India and Australia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation in skills development, workforce mobility and emerging sectors, as part of the 3rd Australia-India Education and Skills Council (AIESC) Meeting held in New Delhi. The bilateral dialogue was co-chaired by Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary and Australia’s Minister for Skills and Training Andrew Giles.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship highlighted that both sides agreed to fast-track the Mutual Recognition of Qualifications and jointly design bridge courses to support seamless mobility of skilled professionals. It added that the discussions underscored opportunities arising from India’s bid for the 2030 Commonwealth Games and Australia’s preparations for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. Furthermore, the sports and physical wellness sector was identified as a key area of collaboration with significant employment potential.
