Social justice is center to India’s Viksit Bharat goals, said Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur at the 64th session of the UN Commission for Social Development in New York. Leading the Indian delegation, she highlighted a rights-based, inclusive and people-centric development approach. Ms Thakur noted that India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 places dignity, equity and opportunity at the core of governance, reflecting the philosophy of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. She outlined major social protection measures, including food security for over 800 million people and free healthcare for more than 550 million citizens. Initiatives supporting women, girls, vulnerable groups and digital delivery systems were highlighted, reaffirming India’s commitment to global social justice.
