India and Finland Sign Multiple Agreements to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

India and Finland exchanged several agreements in different areas, including Environmental cooperation, migration and mobility partnership and Statistics in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a discussion with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, on strengthening bilateral cooperation across a wide spectrum of areas. They also exchanged perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in multilateral fora. 
 
In his joint statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today the world is going through a phase of instability and uncertainty. He said, from Ukraine to West Asia, several regions across the world are witnessing ongoing conflicts. Mr Modi added that in such a global environment, India and Europe, two major diplomatic powers, are entering a golden era in their relations. Prime Minister Modi said that the growing cooperation between India and Europe is strengthening global stability, development, and shared prosperity. 
 
Prime Minister Modi said that India and Finland are unanimous that military conflict alone cannot resolve any issue. He said that, whether in Ukraine or West Asia, both countries will continue to support every effort for an early end to the conflict. Mr Modi noted that, at the beginning of 2026, a historic India-European Union Free Trade Agreement was signed. He said this agreement will further strengthen trade, investment, and technological cooperation between India and Finland. 
 
President of Finland arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a four-day state visit to India. He was received by Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh. This is the first visit of President Stubb to India in his present capacity. He is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will also call on the visiting dignitary. President Stubb will be the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker at the 11th Raisina Dialogue 2026 in the national capital this evening.
