India and Brazil hold talks on defense cooperation, focusing on strategic collaboration and joint operations

India and Brazil today discussed defence engagements, with a focus on augmenting strategic cooperation, strengthening joint operational frameworks, enhancing training avenues and maritime security mechanisms and deepening coordination in Maritime Domain Awareness. The Indian Navy said that Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi met Chief Advisor to the President of Brazil Celso Amorim and Defence Minister of Brazil José Múcio Monteiro during his ongoing four-day visit to Brazil. Both sides also explored opportunities in defence industry collaboration and capability-building initiatives to support long-term interoperability and shared security objectives. They also held deliberations on regional and global dynamics – including the South Atlantic, the wider Indo-Pacific, and the collective role of the Global South.
