The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated places over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today.
The Met department has also predicted similar conditions over Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal till tomorrow. IMD has further predicted squally weather conditions over the Andaman Sea, parts of the east-central Bay of Bengal, and adjoining areas of the northeast Bay of Bengal.  
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, air quality in the Delhi-NCR region continues to remain in the very poor category, with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 305 recorded at 1 pm today. The sub-committee of the Commission for Air Quality Management has already imposed the Graded Response Action Plan- GRAP-2 under the restrictions in the National Capital Region.
As per the AQI scale, an index value between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 satisfactory, 101 to 200 moderate, 201 to 300 poor, and 301 to 400 very poor. An AQI between 401 and 450 falls under the severe category.
