IMD issues warning for rain, snowfall and thunderstorms in Uttarakhand

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for rain and snowfall in various parts of Uttarakhand today. According to the department, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas of Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts, along with heavy snowfall in regions located above 2,300 meters. Most parts of the state’s hilly districts may experience light to moderate rain or snowfall.
 
Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by hail, lightning, and strong winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour are likely in some districts. Cold day conditions may also persist in certain areas.
 
The Met Department stated that minimum temperatures may rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours, followed by a drop of 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in the subsequent two to three days.
