The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai for today. Intermittent rains have been lashing the city since yesterday morning, with intense showers reported in several areas during the early hours today.

 

The continuous downpour has caused severe water-logging in many parts of the city, disrupting daily life and traffic. The Mumbai Police have issued an advisory, urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel. Meanwhile, the IMD has issued an orange alert for neighbouring Raigad and yellow alert for Palghar and Thane.
