The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning for extremely heavy rainfall over East Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir.

IMD has also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Rajasthan.

The Met Department said that isolated places of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim are likely to experience heavy rainfall.

The IMD further added that Northeastern states will also witness similar conditions.

According to IMD, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are expected at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, South Karnataka, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh.
