The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange colour warning for dense to very dense fog conditions in Uttar Pradesh today. According to the IMD, cold wave to severe cold wave conditions will also likely be over Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh today. The weather agency has also forecast dense fog conditions to continue to prevail over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Uttarakhand for the next 3 to 4 days.

IMD also predicted cold wave conditions at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Saurashtra, Kutch and Uttarakhand. Minimum temperatures are expected to gradually fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over East and Northeast India during the next 2 days, and gradually rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over Central India during the next 3 days.
