India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of “heavy to very heavy rainfall” at isolated locations across several districts of Telangana till 17th of August. Met officials also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph at isolated locations across the state.
Following two days of heavy rain, State Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy held a surprise inspection of waterlogged areas in Hyderabad yesterday. He instructed officials to improve drainage systems in flood-prone colonies to prevent further waterlogging. Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Saturday night. An official release stated that the Chief Minister inquired about relief measures at Ameerpet, Buddha Nagar, and Maitri Vanam, where waterlogged due to very heavy rainfall on Saturday evening.
