The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds over many parts of Northwest India for the next 4 to 5 days. Similar weather conditions are also very likely over East and Central India till Tuesday.
According to the IMD, hailstorms and strong winds are possible over Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. Dust storms are also very likely at isolated places over Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, Delhi and some surrounding regions woke up to a light drizzle today. A yellow alert has been issued for moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. The weather department also forecast that the temperatures over Northwest India are expected to fall by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius during the next 24 hours, with no significant change expected over the subsequent 3 days.
