IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in Maharashtra, Gujarat for next four days

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall, with isolated extremely heavy rainfall, over Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat for the next three to four days.

 

The IMD said that isolated extremely heavy rainfall is also likely today over north Konkan including Mumbai, north Madhya Maharashtra, and south Gujarat, under the influence of a well-marked low-pressure area lying over West Vidarbha and adjoining North Madhya Maharashtra.

 

Heavy rainfall is also expected at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, East Rajasthan, Kerala, Mahe, Marathwada, North Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Telangana, Vidarbha, and West Madhya Pradesh till the 1st of next month.

 

The weather department has also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated places over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Telangana.
