The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. The weather agency further informed that that Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions will prevail over Madhya Pradesh till 15th of this month. According to IMD similar conditions are expected over South Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Chandigarh and East Rajasthan during the next 3 to 4 days.
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the severe category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the region was recorded at 416 as of 1 pm today.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) today imposed Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi and adjoining areas.
