IMD forecasts very dense fog over north India for next two days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very dense fog conditions over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab for the next two days. IMD has said that dense fog conditions are expected over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh till tomorrow.

The Met Department has also forecast cold wave conditions in isolated pockets of Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh tomorrow. The weather agency has predicted thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the next two days.

Meanwhile, speaking to Akashvani News today, a Delhi Airport official said that around 130 flights were cancelled due to low visibility at Indira Gandhi International Airport. In addition, the air quality in Delhi-NCR has been registered in the severe category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the National Capital was recorded at 406 as of 8 PM today.
