IMD Forecasts Dense Fog in Several States Today

The India Meteorological Department has forecast dense to very dense fog conditions over Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh today. The IMD said that isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh will experience dense fog conditions during the early hours till tomorrow. Similar conditions are likely to prevail over Northeast India for the next three to four days. The weather department further forecast that northwest India will experience a gradual fall in minimum temperatures by two degrees Celsius during the next two days. The IMD added that Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated places till the 18th of this month.  
 
 
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR has improved but remains in the very poor category, down from the earlier severe level. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded at 381 as of 7 AM today. The weather department has forecast moderate fog at most places with dense fog at isolated places during the forenoon hours. The Maximum and Minimum temperatures over the national capital are likely to hover around 22 and 9 degrees Celsius.
