The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense fog conditions during morning hours in isolated pockets of Punjab today. The Met Department has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till tomorrow. According to the IMD, isolated to scattered rainfall activity is likely over the Western Himalayan region, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep during the next two to three days. The weather agency further predicted a gradual rise in maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius over the northwest parts of the country for the next five to six days.
