India Meteorological Department IMD has said that Cold wave conditions will prevail over Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh today. It said, night temperatures will be below normal by about 2 to 4 degree Celsius over south Haryana and isolated plains of northwest India during the next three to four days. The Met department has forecast for a fall in minimum temperature by 2 to 3 degree Celsius over the Northeastern part of the country during the next 2 to 3 days. The weather department has forecast light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms over Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal for for the next two days.
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the severe category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the region was recorded at 419 as of 7 AM today.
