The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa held its 6th Convocation Ceremony at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda, on Sunday. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan joined the event virtually as the Chief Guest.
One hundred forty-five B.Tech and 13 M.Tech. students and 15 Ph.D. scholars were conferred degrees during the Convocation.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, IITs have made a significant contribution to the nation’s development and engineers are the architects of modern India. He emphasized India’s mission to become a developed nation by 2047 and expressed Goa’s aspiration to reach developed status by 2037.
Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan, addressing the convocation virtually, extended his best wishes to the graduates and commended IIT Goa for its rapid progress.
